Breaking News: Facebook Allows Image Size Increase

Pictures are one of the most engaging aspects of Facebook. When you use pictures to enhance the postings on your Facebook business page, statistics show that it increases engagement. Until just a few days ago, the Facebook posts and ads on your business pages were a thumbnail size. Not very conducive to grabbing users’ attention from all of the many options they have while on Facebook and online in general. Larger images are important because they will help gain attention and lead to more clicks, conversions, and interactions with your page and your brand.

Facebook ad images are now more customizable and will appear up to 3.5 times larger than before. Customizable sizing makes it easier for you to choose the format that works best for your post and your image. Image sizing will be larger across all platforms: desktop, mobile, the sidebar ads in the right column, and sponsored stories. Do not worry about pricing, because the advertising rates are still the same. Here are Facebook’s recommendations for ads:

  • Text: 90 Characters Max (remainder truncated)
  • Link Title: 25 Characters Max
  • Domain: 1 Line
  • Image Size: 100×72 pixels

Page Like Ads:

  • Text: 90 characters
  • Image ratio: 8:3
  • Image size: 1200x450px

Offer Ads:

  • Text: 90 characters
  • Offer Title: 25 characters
  • Image ratio: 1.91:1
  • Image size: 1200x627px

Event Ads:

  • Text: 90 characters
  • Event title: 25 characters
  • Image ratio: 8:3
  • Image size: 1200x450px
